Morel SoundSpot MT-3 Speaker System Review Test Bench
Morel MT-3 Speaker System
Satellite Sensitivity: 84 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the SP-3 satellite (purple trace) and SUB8X subwoofer (blue trace). The passive loudspeaker was measured with grille at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input.
The SP-3’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and ±15° horizontal and vertical responses) measures +3.36/–3.63 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. An average of axial and ±15° horizontal responses measures +3.41/–3.58 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 114 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 97 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.54 ohms at 99 Hz and a phase angle of +41.07° at 179 Hz.
The SUB8X’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 57 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 48 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 116 Hz with the Freq control set to maximum.—MJP
Morel PSW150WR (PSW8E) Subwoofer

This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the PSW150WR (PSW8E) subwoofer (blue trace). The PSW150WR’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 57 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 27 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 147 Hz with the Freq control set to maximum.—MJP
