Sony to Roll Out Dolby Vision TV Update in January

Sony has announced that the firmware update that activates Dolby Vision high dynamic range (HDR) processing in its high-end TV models will be available in mid to late January.

The update applies to the following series and models:

A1E series of 4K OLED TVs, which includes the 55-inch XBR-55A1E ($2,500), 65-inch XBR-65A1E ($3,500 and a Sound & Vision 2017 Top Pick), and 77-inch XBR-77A1E ($13,000)

Z9D series of HDR-enabled 4K LCD TVs, which includes the 65-inch XBR-65Z9D ($3,500), 75-inch XBR-75Z9D ($7,000), and 100-inch XBR-100Z9D ($60,000)

X930E and X940E HDR-enabled 4K LCD TVs, including the 55-inch XBR-55X930E ($1,500), 65-inch XBR-65X930E ($2,000 and a Sound & Vision 2017 Top Pick), and 75-inch XBR-75X940E ($4,300)
