New York’s Stereo Exchange Is Having a ‘Demo’ Sale

Stereo Exchange, the legendary New York City hi-fi dealer, is having a demo sale offering substantial discounts on a half a dozen audio components.

Two pieces of gear stood out as items of potential interest to S&V readers.

The Arcam AVR550 AV receiver, featuring 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos/DTS:X decoding and an IMAX Enhanced mode, is actually a sealed-box stock item that’s being offered at $2,200, 35% off the original list price of $3,400. Other highlights include seven HDMI inputs, Dirac Live processing, and power output of 7 x 90 watts with all channels driven (1 kHz at 0.2%). Best of all, the receiver is covered by the original manufacturer warranty. Click here for more information on the AVR550, which was introduced in 2017.

The second deal is on a pair of McIntosh 600-watt MC601 monoblock amplifiers, which is being offered at a “special” discount off the current $14,000/pair retail price. The amps are covered by a 90-day Stereo Exchange warranty. The MC601 was replaced by the MC611 back in 2018. Click here for more information on the MC601. Pricing was not available but we’re told the deal is in-store only.

Stereo Exchange can be reached via email at info@stereoexchange.com or by phone at 212-505-1111.
