Naim Adds Qobuz to Mu-so Gen 2 Wireless Speakers

British hi-fi firm Naim has added native support for Qobuz high-res music streaming to its 2nd generation Mu-so family wireless music systems, the Mu-so 2 and Mu-so Qb, both Sound & Vision 2019 Top Picks. The service is available now via an over-the-air firmware upgrade that users can download for free.

The addition of Qobuz to 2nd generation Mu-so systems means the full range of Naim streaming products now offer the service, with the Uniti Atom, Star and Nova systems, and ND5 XS2, NDX 2 and ND 555 network players already having received an update in February 2020.

In other Qobuz news, the high-res streaming service, which offers over 2 million tracks with up to 24-bit/192kHz resolution, has launched a family plan, an offering we first learned about at CES 2020 during an interview with the company’s U.S. managing director Dan Mackta. Qobuz Family is priced at $24.99/month—$10 more than a $14.99/month individual Qobuz Studio Premier plan—and provides up to six family members with independent memberships so they can manage their own favorites library, playlists, and listening history.
