JBL Previews Retro Integrated Amp, L100 Classic Speaker

JBL is celebrating its 75th anniversary with the launch of the SA750 integrated amplifier and L100 Classic 75 loudspeaker, two retro modern products that reference hi-fi’s golden age—specifically, the 1970s part.

With teak-wood veneer side panels and an aluminum face festooned with chunky control knobs and switches, the SA750 integrated amplifier exudes retro audio chic. Beyond that vintage face you’ll find all the modern amenities, including Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections for linking to a home network, Chromecast and AirPlay 2 wireless streaming, and a high-res DAC with full MQA decoding. JBL’s integrated is also Roon Ready and features Dirac Live room correction.

JBL says the SA750’s class-G amplifier delivers 120Wpc into 8 ohms and 220Wpc into 4 ohms. Other hardware features include a switchable MM/MC phono stage, two coaxial digital and six analog RCA inputs, and USB and RS-232C ports.

The new L100 Classic 75 loudspeaker sports a similar look—and specs—as the JBL L100 Classic model the company released a few years back. Produced in a limited edition run of 750 pairs, the speaker comes with JBL’s JS-120 floor stands and ships inside a “specially-crafted” wooden crate decorated with limited edition artwork.

The SA750 is priced at $3,000 and the L100 Classic 75 at $5,500/pair. Both will be available starting in April 2021.
