GoldenEar Aon 2 Speaker System HT Labs Measures

HT Labs Measures

Satellite Sensitivity: 89 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the Aon 2 satellite (purple trace) and ForceField 5 subwoofer (blue trace). The passive loudspeaker was measured with grille at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input.

The Aon 2’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +2.00/–2.53 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +2.10/–2.43 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3-dB point is at 57 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 40 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.21 ohms at 198 Hz and a phase angle of –55.94 degrees at 111 Hz.

The ForceField 5’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 24 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 21 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 138 Hz with the Lowpass Crossover control set to maximum. —MJP

I have owned my Aon 3's for almost a year now, and they continue to impress. Totally agree with the review. Can't wait to see the review on the new triton 7 towers. Keep up the good work GoldenEar! Thanks to Mark for an honest review as well....

I'm wondering if you have a recommendation for stands for the monitors and wall mounts for the center/surrounds. Thanks.
