Energy Take Speaker System HT Labs Measures

HT Labs Measures: Energy Take Speaker System

L/C/R Sensitivity: 88 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

Surround Sensitivity: 87.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the Take LCR L/C/R (purple trace), S10.3 subwoofer (blue trace), and Take SAT surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

The Take LCR's listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +0.78/–5.43 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +1.43/–4.80 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 146 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 115 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 9.48 ohms at 13.2 kHz and a phase angle of –50.59 degrees at 208 Hz.

The Take SAT's listening-window response measures +0.46/–3.65 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3dB point is at 137 Hz, and the –6dB point is at 108 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 5.37 ohms at 326 Hz and a phase angle of –41.06 degrees at 188 Hz.

The S10.3's close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3dB point is at 27 Hz and the –6dB point is at 25 Hz. The upper –3dB point is at 110 Hz with the X-Over Mode switch set to bypassed.—MJP
