L/C/R Sensitivity: 88.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

Surround Sensitivity: 90.5 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz

This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the IKON 2 L/C/R (purple trace), IKON Sub subwoofer (blue trace), and IKON On-Wall surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured with grilles at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.

The IKON 2's listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +1.47/–4.22 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +2.08/–4.10 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 388 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 61 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 6.75 ohms at 20 kHz and a phase angle of +71.73 degrees at 59 Hz.

The IKON On-Wall's listening-window response measures +0.62/–4.38 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 379 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 95 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 6.12 ohms at 20 kHz and a phase angle of –46.23 degrees at 111 Hz.

Please note that the –3-dB points of both of these models are unusually high in frequency due to the elevated response in the 500 Hz to 2 kHz band (which we use as the reference) relative to the lower frequencies.

The IKON Sub's close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 40 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 31 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 114 Hz using the LFE input.—MJP
