Triad Silver Monitor, Surround, Sub Speaker System HT Labs Measures
This graph shows the quasi-anechoic (employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the InRoom Silver Monitor L/C/R (purple trace), InRoom Silver PowerSub subwoofer (blue trace), and OnWall Silver Surround surround (red trace). All passive loudspeakers were measured at a distance of 1 meter with a 2.83-volt input and scaled for display purposes.
On-axis response of the InRoom Silver Monitor measures +0.99/-3.51 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. An average of axial and (+/-15 degree) horizontal responses measures +0.56/-2.81 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The -3dB point is at 79 Hz, and the -6dB point is at 67 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 3.53 ohms at 186 Hz and a phase angle of -52.77 degrees at 111 Hz. Sensitivity averages 90 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.
Three-face averaged response of the OnWall Silver Surround measures +1.55/-9.73 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The -3dB point is at 99 Hz, and the -6dB point is at 86 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 2.43 ohms at 744 Hz and a phase angle of -58.60 degrees at 129 Hz. Sensitivity averages 85 dB from 500 Hz to 2 kHz.
Close-miked response of the InRoom Silver PowerSub, normalized to the average level from 40 to 80 Hz, indicates that the lower -3dB point is at 19 Hz and the -6dB point is at 15 Hz. The upper -3dB point is at 182 Hz with both low-pass controls at maximum.—AJ
