NAD Previews New Flagship AV Receiver

NAD Electronics today announced that it will unveil a new flagship AV receiver at the 2019 CEDIA Expo, which opens tomorrow in Denver.

Slated to ship in November with a retail price of $2,999 and “conservatively rated” to deliver 9 x 100 watts, all channels driven (FTC), the T 778 boasts an upgradeable modular design construction (MDC) with two MDC slots and configurable channels and is the first receiver to take advantage of a new higher efficiency version of NAD’s Hybrid Digital amplifier.

With onboard surround processing for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and DTS Master Audio, the receiver supports home theater setups with up to 7.1.4 channels, 4K/Ultra HD passthrough, and is equipped with Dirac Live automated room correction. It also supports MQA decoding on all of its digital inputs.

The receiver boasts a newly refined touch screen for simple, intuitive operation and supports wireless multiroom streaming via NAD’s high-resolution BluOS platform and Apple’s AirPlay 2 platform as well as aptX HD-enabled Bluetooth streaming.

“NAD firmly believes that there are many people for whom music will always come first,” said chief technology officer Greg Stidsen. “With NAD’s reputation for high value/high performance, it was apparent that the T 778 would have to please the most demanding audiophiles and videophiles. MDC then helps protect their investment for years to come.”

In custom installation parlance, the T 778 is built on a low-profile 3U rack-mount chassis and certified to support all major control systems. Other integrator-friendly features include an RS232 serial port, an infrared (IR) input with learning functionality, and an input/output with remote triggering.
