Monitor Audio Showcases Gen-6 Bronze Speakers

The centerpiece of Monitor Audio’s packed CEDIA Expo Virtual 2020 booth is its new Bronze speaker lineup, which we had previously reported on in early July. These handsome speakers, now in their sixth generation, have been designed to deliver dynamic, attention-grabbing performance, and feature an 8-ohm nominal impedance to allow pairing with a wide range of A/V receivers and electronics.

Bronze Gen-6 highlights include a new Uniform Dispersion Waveguide that works with the company’s signature C-CAM Gold Dome Tweeter to deliver wide, even sound dispersion with improved time alignment. The cabinets have also been revamped to emphasize clean lines and feature single bolt-through driver technology for “increased bracing strength, rigidity and driver/baffle de-coupling,” according to Monitor Audio. The new Bronze series speakers are available in four finishes (White, Walnut, Urban Grey, and Black), with matching magnetic cloth-covered grilles.

Also on display in Monitor’s virtual booth is the IMS-4 Music Streamer, another new product for 2020. The IMS-4 uses the BluOS protocol to stream lossless music at up to 24-bit/192kHz resolution to four separate zones and is operated by the BluOS Controller app. Multiple IMS-4s can also be integrated with other BluOS devices to allow for streaming to up to 64 zones, either independently or fully synchronized. Apple AirPlay 2 is supported, and both analog and digital inputs accommodate external sources and make them available to every zone.
