HEOS Music App Gets a Makeover

The Home Entertainment Operating System (HEOS) music app Denon launched almost 10 years ago as an answer to Sonos, is getting a makeover.

Designed to significantly improve appearance and functionality, the update starts with a refreshed homepage/user interface, which includes a revamped Home tab that provides ready access to favorite music and a new universal Search tab that pulls from multiple music streaming services and personal libraries simultaneously.

Other improvements include device discoverability, Wi-Fi and playback stability, login security, in-app controls and messaging, and audio syncing.

The new app can be downloaded via Google Play and the Apple App Store.

Originally created for Denon AV receivers and network amplifiers, the HEOS platform is now also built into Marantz AV receivers and network amplifiers. Denon and Marantz are owned by Masimo, which also owns a number of other iconic home audio brands, including Bowers & Wilkins, Polk, Definitive Technology, and Boston Acoustics.
