Zvox Previews “Full Metal Jacket” Soundbars

Zvox demonstrated a pair of “Full Metal Jacket” soundbars earlier this month at CES 2016 that it plans to ship in April.

Designed to stand alone without a separate subwoofer, the 36-inch SB400 ($499) and 43-inch SB500 ($599) were nick-named for their extruded, brushed aluminum cabinets, which are only 3.2 inches deep. At the heart of both models is a computer-controlled MegaBass woofer system built around 4-inch long-throw woofers said to deliver “clean, accurate bass down to 42Hz.”

Both soundbars offer Zvox’s AccuVoice dialogue enhancement technology, which is used in advanced hearing aids to produce clear voice reproduction, PhaseCue virtual surround sound, Dolby Digital processing, Bluetooth/aptX streaming, and output leveling to equalize the volume of obnoxiously loud commercials.
