StormAudio Develops Advanced HDMI Card

The card will be unveiled at 2019 CEDIA Expo, which opens September 10 in Denver, and offered as an upgrade when it becomes available in late September.
Dubbed “HDMI 7+2 eARC,” the card boasts seven inputs and two outputs and supports bandwidths up to 18 gigabytes-per-second (Gbps), Dolby Vision and HDR10 high dynamic range (HDR), and Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) for routing immersive audio soundtracks such as Dolby Atmos from a TV to a StormAudio processor.
“Manufacturers are often at the mercy of vendors, having to accept ‘off-the-shelf’ HDMI cards that deliver less than optimal results,” said U.S. sales manager Gary Blouse. “Given the newest formats and associated demanding performance specs, this simply would not do” so the company worked with a “specialized circuit-board manufacturer/partner” to develop a high-performance card that’s easy to integrate into its existing processors.
StormAudio specializes in 8- and 16-channel home theater power amplifiers and 16-, 20- and 32-channel preamp/processors featuring Atmos, DTS:X, and Auro-3D immersive audio processing, Dirac Live room-correction technology, and remote web-based monitoring.
