Sol Republic Upgrades its Top Selling Wireless Earbuds

Sol Republic, a Los Angeles-based maker of lifestyle music products, has updated its best-selling wireless earbuds to improve performance across the board.

With feedback from consumer users, the company upgraded the Amps Air 2.0 earbuds ($130) to ensure seamless connectivity and stereo sound along with improved microphone functionality, charging capability, and IPX4-rated water/sweat resistance, according to the company. The earbuds are also now compatible with Bluetooth 5.0 for faster pairing and an extended wireless range of up to 50 feet.

The revamped earbuds include a redesigned charging/storage case featuring smoother lid operation and improved form-fitting to ensure proper charging when the buds are seated in the case, which doubles as a backup charger for a phone or other device. The case’s built-in battery is good for up to 15 charges before it needs to be recharged via USB. Play time is rated as 3 hours when the earbuds are fully charged.

The Amps Air 2.0 earbuds have a multifunction button for answering calls and controlling music playback and are available in four finishes: black, blue, gray, or black/rose gold.
