Simplify, Simplify: Rotel Programmable Remote Does it All

Is your coffee table a museum of remote controls? If so, it's time to streamline your home theater space with one elegant device that does the work of many.

You can eliminate fumbling for the right one and finding the right key in the dark with Rotel's new RR-1090. "Organically sculpted" to fit the hands, the RR-1090 looks like a piece of high-tech art, but functions as the most important tool in your system. It will replace up to eight remotes, simplifying common tasks by placing them on "macro" keys. "Start movie," "dim lights," and "volume up" can all happen with the press of the appropriate key.

That's not all. The RR-1090 is backlit, making it easy to use even in the darkest rooms. PC Link software and cable are bundled with it if you're interested in using your Windows 95/98/ME computer to control your equipment. The RR-1090 can even be password protected so that only you and those you trust can operate your home theater system.

The Rotel RR-1090 is the result of prolonged research and development about how people actually use remote controls and what they want them to do. "We wanted to combine the best of today's technologies in a way that made system operation easier," says Rotel general manager Michael Bartlett. "Additionally, we wanted a visually appealing product that would exude a high-tech aura, yet blend with many different room decors. The RR-10990 has hit the mark---it's a unique combination of ergonomics and technology that we're proud to offer. We fee it's one of the most distinguished solutions yet for 'coffee table clutter' ."
