Q Acoustics Adds Stand-Mount Model to 3000i Series

U.K.-based speaker specialist Q Acoustics has added a new stand-mount model to the 3000i speaker series the company introduced last year.

Engineered to deliver solid bass from a compact enclosure, the new 3030i sits between the 3020i bookshelf model and 3050i floorstander but derives its woofer design from the larger 3050i and doubles the internal volume of the 3020i. The 3030i will sell for $399/pair when it becomes available in February.

Standing just shy of 13 inches tall, the 3030i is a two-way reflex design with a 6.5-inch woofer and the same 1-inch tweeter used in the 3050i. The woofer boasts a new magnet assembly with copper-clad aluminum windings optimized for the enclosure size; Q Acoustics says the combination enables the speaker to play down to 46 Hz. Sensitivity is specified as 88 dB (1W/1m).

The cabinet employs the rigid, point-to-point (P2P) bracing originally introduced in the brand’s flagship Concept 500 speaker.

The 3030i will be offered in four finishes: black, white, gray, and walnut. The stand pictured above is available for $168/pair.
