Oakley to make 3D glasses
It seems that Oakley is joining the 3D glasses market. The fashion optical company recently announced that it will make a full range of 3D glasses, all equipped with Oakley's fashion sense, branding, and (presumably) hefty price tags.
Obviously, active-shutter systems aren't Oakley's forte. Instead, the company will be producing passive 3D glasses, using polarized lenses to separate 3D images. The lenses will be produced using Oakley's HDO-3D technology, and will be "optically-correct;" that is, glasses-wearing users will be able to get 3D glasses made in their own prescriptions. The new 3D glasses will start shipping before the holiday season.
