Nativ Announces Tidal/MQA Update for Hi-Res Player

Hong Kong-based Nativ has announced a software update for its Vita high-resolution (hi-res) music player/server that adds support for Tidal Masters, which provides access to thousands of albums encoded in the high-resolution Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) format created by Meridian Audio’s Bob Stuart.

With the update, owners of the $1,600 Vita system who have a Tidal HiFi subscription gain access to the Tidal Masters library of MQA content.

The feature is available through both Vita’s 11.6-inch touchscreen interface and the system’s integration with Roon music-management software.

“As a leader in high fidelity music streaming, Tidal is the perfect match for Nativ, “said Tidal’s Lior Tibon. “Nativ’s beautiful touchscreen interface and audiophile-grade technology will allow customers to take full advantage of our extensive Tidal Masters catalog.”

The Vita system incorporates 10 terabytes (TB) of local music storage and supports hi-res content up to 32-bit/384-kHz PCM and DSD256. It also supports wireless streaming via Wi-Fi, aptX/Bluetooth, Apple Airplay, Google Cast, and Spotify Connect and facilitates playback of music videos via HDMI or Google Cast.
