Auro Technologies and Sono Luminus have announced the upcoming release of three albums recorded in Auro-3D surround sound, which has three vertical layers of sound, including height and overhead.

The albums, slated for released on Pure Audio Blu-ray and distributed to major retailers worldwide by Naxos, will feature an Auro 9.1 mix alongside traditional stereo and 5.1 mixes. The albums are:

• Touch from cellist and composer Peter Gregson, who recently completed his first film score for a A Little Chaos, starring Kate Winslet and Matthias Schoenaerts. Due out August 28.
• In the Light of Air: ICE Performs Anna Thorvaldsdottír, a tetralogy of works by Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottír, written for viola, cello, harp, piano, percussion, and electronics. Due out August 28.
• From Whence We Came from Ensemble Galilei, an ensemble of players from classical and Celtic backgrounds, "infusing ancient music with a spirit of improvisation and liveliness." Due out September 25.
