These measurements were taken with the backlight set to 15. It can be increased to compensate for lots of ambient light if needed.
The horizontal high-frequency burst looked distinctly blue, but the vertical burst did not. The component input was very rolled off but still visible, and there was lots of noise in the high-frequency bursts.
At 1080i/p with the aspect ratio set to Full Native (no overscan), one pixel was cropped from the left side of the screen and two pixels were cropped from the bottom.
Grayscale & Color Temperature
Before calibration, the grayscale tended toward red at the low end and green in most of the rest of the brightness range.
Calibration got the grayscale closer to D65, but the lowest end still tended toward red.
As expected from the grayscale results, the pre-cal color tracking was too red at the low end and too green in the rest of the brightness range.
Calibration got the color tracking closer, but it was still too red in the low end and too green in the mid to high end. Only the point that Tom calibrated was correct.
The pre-cal color temp tended low, especially in the low end.
Post-cal, the color temp was much better, but it still tended low in the low end.
Color Accuracy
In the Brilliant picture mode, green was way oversaturated, and most of the other colors were off as well. Only blue was correct, and red wasn't far off. The Bright picture mode resulted in a very similar color gamut.
The Natural picture mode resulted in a fairly accurate color gamut, especially the primaries. Unfortunately, there is no real color-management system to move the secondaries closer to their targets.
