Make Your Thin TV a Wall-Hugger

HDTV sets keep getting thinner. Hitachi's UltraThin line is only 1.5-inches thick. If you're the type that must have the world's thinnest TV, you probably want to show off its slim profile with a wall-mount. However, there aren't many (as far as we know, any) wall mounts available that take advantage of super-thin TV sets.

Chief Manufacturing is beginning to ship one such mount.

The first model in the company's new Thinstall series will fit Hitachi's UltraThin sets, and more models will show up as the skinny HDTVs do. Chief's newest mounting model can bring a TV .49 inches from the wall (that's narrower than the width of a penny, according to the company's marketing materials, and one-third the size of the Hitachi TV it supports).

Chief says this is the thinnest flat-panel TV mount available, so if your TV weighs less than 175 pounds, the company may be able to help you realize your dreams of a nearly invisible television. -Rachel Rosmarin
