Lyngdorf Announces App-Based Streaming Amplifier

Denmark’s Lyngdorf Audio has introduced a compact streaming amplifier that can be fully controlled using a free app.

Unveiled last week at ISE 2020 in Amsterdam, the TDAI-1120 supports streaming via AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth in addition to providing access to a number of streaming services through Chromecast built-in and direct access to Spotify and vTuner internet radio. The device is also compatible with Roon music-management software and can play files from local and networked drives.

The TDAI-1120 is expected to ship in April or May with an approximate U.S. price of $2,160.

A variety of connections are provided, including asynchronous coaxial and optical digital inputs (two each) that support hi-res playback up to 24-bit/192kHz and 24/96, respectively. There’s also an ARC-enabled HDMI connector, phono and line-level RCA inputs, stereo RCA outputs, a trigger input and output, LAN connector, and USB port.

The TDAI-1120 is equipped with Lyngdorf’s patented RoomPerfect room-correction system, which measures frequency response using a supplied microphone and automatically compensates for acoustic anomalies. The amplifier section is rated to deliver 2 x 60 watts RMS into 8 ohms or twice that into a 4-ohm load.

The Lyngdorf Remote app, available for iOS and Android devices, displays cover art, signal resolution, and can be used to select inputs, adjust volume, and control the media player as well as other basic functions.
