Klipsch Introduces Customizable 3-Channel Soundbar

Klipsch today introduced a high-performance soundbar that can be customized to match the width of most TVs.

The latest addition to Klipsch’s Heritage series, the Heritage Theater Bar ($2,199) features classic styling with wood-veneer top and bottom panels and an integral wall mounting system that’s only a quarter inch deep. And unlike the typical soundbar, this one is a passive three-channel design that requires outboard power.

Each channel teams a Tractrix horn-loaded 0.75-inch titanium tweeter with two 4-inch Cerametallic woofers for a total of six woofers and three tweeters. Recommended power is 50 - 150 watts thanks to the system’s high efficiency design, which boasts a rated sensitivity of 92 dB, which means sound-pressure level (SPL) measured 1 meter away from the speaker is 92 dB with 1 watt of power.

Klipsch offers a standard 49.5-inch-wide version of the Theater Bar that matches the width of most 55-inch TVs or you can order a custom width between 49.5 and 80 inches. The enclosure is sealed and made of MDF.

Standard finish options are walnut or satin black ash wood veneer with the Heritage series’ signature black knit grille cloth. Custom options include four furniture-grade wood veneer finishes or you can order the soundbar unfinished or primed and ready for paint with a choice of four removable grille cloth options.

The Heritage Bar measures 6.25 inches high and 4 inches deep and has centralized front-panel inputs for all three channels with spring-loaded speaker terminals on its back panel; the standard 49.5-inch model weighs 26 pounds.

The soundbar is rated to play down to 95 Hz ±3dB, 75 Hz ±10 dB.
