Klipsch Expands Powered Speakers Series

Klipsch today announced the expansion of its plug-and-play Reference Powered speaker series.

Two models have been added: The bi-amplified Reference R-28PF floorstanding tower ($1,199/pair) — featuring 260 watts of power, magnetically shielded dual 8-inch woofers, and a horn-loaded 1-inch tweeter — and the 80-watt R-14PM bookshelf model ($300/pair) with one magnetically shielded 4-inch woofer and a 0.75-inch horn-loaded tweeter.

Designed to simplify system setup by eliminating the need for a separate receiver or power amplifier and speaker wire, both models use copper-spun woofers and Klipsch’s proprietary Tractix horn assembly. Other common features include a 192kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC), a subwoofer output, and a selection of inputs, including Bluetooth, phono for direct connection to a turntable, 3.5mm and RCA analog, optical digital, and USB.

Both models are also equipped with a subwoofer output and include a remote control. The R-28PF is 42 inches tall and the R-14PM is a compact 9.75 x 5.9 x 7.5 inches.
