Kanto Ships All-In-One SYD Music System

Kanto has announced that the SYD music system it previewed at CES in January is now available.

The all-in-one stereo system ($330) features two 1-inch silk-dome tweeters and two 4-inch woven Kevlar midrange/woofers driven by a 140-watt peak power (70 watts RMS) amplifier in a 17.5 x 5.7 x 6.9-inch cabinet crafted from acoustic-grade MDF. The enclosure includes a low-profile stand that that enables the speaker to be tilted at an optimum listening angle while providing isolation from unwanted vibration.

Connection options include wireless streaming via Bluetooth/aptX plus mini-jack and RCA inputs, an optical digital input to accommodate a TV or digital source, and a built-in switchable phono preamp for connecting a turntable. The system also has a subwoofer output and a USB charging port.

“Our new SYD makes it easy to enjoy outstanding sound from an all-in-one speaker that fits into any listening room,” said Brett Smalley, Kanto marketing manager. “Don’t let its modest size fool you — a lot of serious engineering and listening went into making sure SYD delivers an involving musical experience, with clarity, detail, a natural tonal balance and expansive sound.”

The system includes a remote with controls for volume, bass, treble, balance, source selection, power on/off, and other functions. Four matte finish options are available: Black, white, burgundy, and pink.
