Kaleidescape Introduces Mobile App

Kaleidescape, the Sunnyvale, CA-based maker of high-end movie players and servers, today introduced a mobile app for iOS devices that can be used to buy movies and control playback of its movie systems.

The Kaleidescape Mobile App provides movie recommendations and features a remote function that makes it “fun and easy” to control the onscreen display via a smartphone.

"Kaleidescape is known for its beautiful onscreen user interface. However, to use it, many of our customers interact with third-party control tablets that make it impossible to use some of the best features of our onscreen user interface," said Cheena Srinivasan, Kaleidescape founder and CEO.

"We designed our new mobile app to solve this problem by providing a control interface that is as elegant as our onscreen interface. The mobile app's design was also influenced by the lack of a practical way to visit our movie store and buy movies with a smartphone."

The app is available for download from the Apple Store and available at no cost to Kaleidescape owners and users. The company said it plans to release an Android version of the app in the future.
