HE 2006 Special Events & Giveaways

The Home Entertainment Show 2006 is only weeks away, running June 1–4 at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel in Los Angeles. Here is a sampling of some of the giveaways and special events that will take place at the Show. Several of these should be of particular interest to home theater enthusiasts.

Free Home Theater Movie Night
Sit back and relax for a great Home Theater event within the HE2006. The editors of Home Theater will present a showing of a classic movie on Friday night at 7pm in the Grand Ballroom. Enjoy the best surround sound and projection equipment—just like you would with your own in-home system—only here, you get to see what it looks like with 400 guests! Acoustic Sounds presents a tour of the RTI/AcousTech record pressing plant. This four-hour off-site tour will take attendees to the RTI record pressing plant to see vinyl in action, as well as to the AcousTech mastering facility! The tour is free and maps are available at registration or you can take the bus. The bus leaves at 6pm sharp on Friday June 2 from the HE Show registration. Join members of the Acoustic Guild and industry experts in acoustics in really hearing the difference in acoustic treatments for your home. Two great days of hands-on seminars are being held at the Show on Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4 in the Hermosa Room. Your ticket also gets you into the Home Entertainment Show.

Day One: Digital Cameras Made Easy
In this day-long lecture seminar, you will learn how to take your pictures from the camera to the finished print and discover how to easily and effectively manipulate on the computer the photographs you took with your digital camera. This class opens the door to all aspects of digital photography. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from the pros.

Day Two: The Digital Darkroom
In this day-long digital darkroom seminar, you will learn to work with digital photographs or digital scans of existing film images to enhance, manage, color correct and print your images. This seminar covers in more depth, aspects of digital imaging that you will need to know to make the most of your photographs once they are in your computer.
