GoldenEar Ready to Ship SuperCinema 3D Array XL Soundbar

Extra Long Version of Popular 3D Array Soundbar Made for Screens 65 Inches and Up

GoldenEar Technology announced that the new SuperCinema 3D Array XL soundbar will be available in early October at a suggested retail price of $1,599. The XL is a larger version of the SuperCinema 3D Array soundbar—an S&V Top Pick in 2012—intended for TVs with screens sizes 65 inches and up.

Like it’s predecessor, the XL is passive and incorporates 3D image optimization technology designed to create “immersive 3D playback” with or without rear/side surround speakers. In addition to left-, center-, and right-channel speakers, the soundbar has a second set of drivers that “effectively cancel out crosstalk distortion between the left and right channel,” which is said to result in a more expansive soundstage.

Finished in gloss black, the XL houses eight 4.5-inch woofers and three folded ribbon tweeters in an extruded aluminum enclosure with a marble-powder-infused baffle and end-caps; the cabinet measures 62 x 4.75 x 2.75 inches (W x H x D). The center-channel section comprises four woofers are arranged around a tweeter in a two-stage D’Appolito array.

The SuperCinema 3D Array XL can be mounted on a wall using the keyhole or threaded brass inserts on its back panel or placed on a shelf and leveled with its adjustable rear supports. Recommended amplification is 20-250 watts per channel and frequency response is rated as 80 Hz- 35kHz.
