Denon Unveils Heos Soundbar and Subwoofer

Denon has announced plans to expand its Heos line of wireless multiroom audio products with a soundbar and subwoofer that will be available in April.

The Heos Bar ($899) is a three-channel design suitable for screens larger than 50 inches that uses nine drivers arranged in a 45-degree configuration and virtual surround processing to simulate 5.1-channel sound from a single enclosure; the system also provides Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio processing.

Designed to be placed on a shelf or mounted on the wall, the Bar provides four HDMI 2.0a inputs and supports streaming over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi with access to a number of streaming services, including Spotify, Pandora, TuneIn, Rhapsody, iHeart Radio, Tidal, SiriusXM, Soundcloud, and Amazon Music.

The Bar connects wirelessly with the new Heos Subwoofer ($599), which combines a pair of custom-made 5.25-inch drivers and a Class-D amplifier in a low-profile enclosure that can be used vertically (as shown) or laid horizontally and slid under a couch.

Both products are set up and controlled via the Heos app, which provides factory default and user adjustable sound settings.
