Definitive Technology SoloCinema XTR Soundbar HT Labs Measures
This graph shows the quasianechoic (corrected for boundary gain and employing close-miking of all woofers) frequency response of the SoloCinema XTR soundbar (purple trace). The left channel was measured with the grille at a distance of 1 meter. Please note: Our standardized measurements require that all spatial and surround processing be bypassed. As that function isn’t provided on this model, special firmware was required on the sample tested here.
The SoloCinema XTR soundbar’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +5.24 /– 3.23 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3-dB point is at 174 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 137 Hz.
The matching subwoofer’s close-miked response, normalized to the level at 80 Hz, indicates that the lower –3-dB point is at 43 Hz and the –6-dB point is at 36 Hz. The upper –3-dB point is at 107 Hz.—MJP
Video Test Bench
The SoloCinema does not do any video upconversion or other video processing. Therefore, the only relevant tests are for direct passthrough (performed here with a 1080p input). It passed those tests with no issues.—TJN
