Slowly but surely the Internet of Things (iOT) is creeping into our lives. The latest everyday product to get connected is the Ekko mirror from Miliboo.

Inventors at French furniture company were looking for ways to enrich their daily routines when they came up with the concept for a connected mirror that could facilitate tasks such as listening to music or watching YouTube while shaving, for example.

Described as an interactive multimedia platform, the mirror is controlled via hand gestures read by sensors built into its sides. A personal profile can be set up for each family member and you can even activate a timer that displays on the mirror while you’re brushing your teeth.

Ekko comes in two versions: a freestanding rectangular mirror or a round mirror that mounts to the wall. Price: $399.
