CircleVision 360!

Tough sledding, kids. We're not going to Wally World. I'm not paying 4 bucks a gallon to buckle you into the Hummer and drive your little butts cross-country to that place. And for the last time, we're not getting a damn Prius.

But, if you agree to clean up your rooms and to mow the grass every Saturday for the next 30 years (I'll need all this in writing), I'll let you see The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian in CircleVision 360.

Yeah, that's right - remember when we saw O Canada! at Epcot - the night your mother went for a swim in the lake? That's what I'm talking about.

CircleVision 360 is a film technique developed by the Wally company; it uses nine cameras and the stuff is projected onto big screens arranged in a circle. By using an odd number of screens, and a small space between them, a projector is placed in each gap, projecting across the space to a screen. The screens and projectors are arranged above head level, and Timmy has hand bars to hold onto while viewing the film, so he won't get quite so sick.

But no, we're not going to damn Wally World! You get to see this at home . . .

Circlevision 360 will be available on a new Blu-ray disc release of Caspian. We won't have the circular nine-screen projector setup, but using Javascript (Blu-ray's native interactive language) you'll be able to look around a 360-degree set and access video and text highlights at various angles. Much cheaper than 4 bucks a gallon.

We'll put down a drop cloth in case Timmy pukes. -Ken C. Pohlmann
