Best Buy to Launch Roku Ready Budget 4K TVs

If you’re interested in an inexpensive 4K/Ultra HD (UHD) TV, you might want to drop by your local Best Buy in a few weeks. The national chain plans to roll out three 4K models featuring onboard Roku streaming capability in early April.

Insignia-brand models with 43-, 50-, and 55-inch screens are currently available for pre-order on bestbuy.com at $400, $500, and $650, respectively.

The sets, which can be controlled using a simple remote control or the free Roku Mobile App (iOS and Android), are built around the Roku operating system, which is said to provide a smart TV experience with a personalized home screen and access to more than 3,000 streaming channels in the U.S. Among those channels are 10 that stream UHD content, including the 4K Spotlight Channel that presents a curated selection of entertainment shot in 4K.

In addition to controlling the TV, the Roku app offers voice search and a Play On Roku feature that enables viewers to send personal content on a mobile device directly to the TV.
