AudioControl Joins The Cinema Designer

AudioControl, the Seattle-based maker of home and car products known best for its signal processors, has announced that it is now part of The Cinema Designer (TCD), a powerful cloud-based tool/database used by professional integrators to design home theaters and media rooms.

TCD, winner of CEDIA’s Best New Software Award in 2017, enables installation professionals to generate standards-based home cinema and media room designs while choosing from a broad range of products, including AudioControl’s Concert AVR-9 and AVR-7 AV receivers, Maestro M9 and M5 processors, and Pantages G3, Savoy G3, and Bijou amplifiers.

The tool specifies equipment for a home theater or media space based on room size, design principles, and performance data.

Integrators around the world use TCD to create comprehensive proposals that include audio and video calibration reports, 3D CAD drawings, and visual renderings that show what a finished room will look like. The tool specifies the precise location of the speakers, screen, seating, and projector in addition to providing requirements for amplification, signal processing, and acoustic treatments, based on parameters such as RT60, which measures reverberation in a room.

“We are pleased to have joined TCD and bring additional support services and increased operational efficiency to our dealers and integrators worldwide,” said Chris Kane, AudioControl vice president of sales and marketing.
