Optoma Previews $5,000 Laser Phosphor 4K Projector
The UHZ65 projector is described as combining “the latest advances in imaging, light source, and color space.” Its laser phosphor light engine boasts a 20,000-hour life cycle and delivers about 2,800 lumens of brightness with a contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1, according to Optoma.
The projector supports the HDR10 high dynamic range (HDR) format, REC.2020 wide color gamut, and HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.2 for a full 18Gbps bandwidth. A 1.6x optical zoom and 15 percent vertical lens shift are designed to aid installation flexibility.
The company also announced that it will launch the 4K500 lamp-based 4K/UHD projector in July at an “estimated end user price” of $6,999. Brightness is rated as 5,000 lumens, and contrast ratio as 1,200,000:1 (with Dynamic Black enabled).
Horizontal and vertical lens shift, motorized zoom and focus, keystone correction, and a 2.0x zoom ratio are designed to ensure easy installation from any angle. The projector is equipped with a variety of inputs, including HDMI 2.0.
