Chinese startup XGIMI, which recently shipped its crowd-funded Z4 Aurora Smart LED Projector to backers, is now offering the mini projector on Amazon.

The projector is being offered at the discounted price of $559.

Measuring 7.7 x 2 x 7.7 inches, the 700-lumen WXGA (1280 x 800) projector operates on the Android platform and supports 3D and wireless streaming. It is said to project images up to 300 inches, though 10 feet (120 inches) is more typical. The LED light source has a rated life expectancy of 30,000 hours, according to the company.

The company said it uses “16 techniques to enhance the quality of image and 11 techniques of color enhancement” to improve image quality in addition to multiplying pixel density and “changing the shape of pixel points from rhombus to rectangle to anti-alias the edge of images.” Vertical +/-30 degree and horizontal +/-30 degree keystone correction is provided for an “optimal image from any angle.”

The projector comes with a Bluetooth remote control (with mouse functionality for more technical operations) and can be controlled by simple hand gestures. It has built-in Harman Kardon speakers and connections include HDMI, USB, and analog AV jacks.
