Terk Aids Cord-Cutters with New HDTV Antennas

Terk, the 30-year-old brand specializing in radio and TV antennas, has introduced two amplified indoor HDTV antennas aimed at cord cutters.

The thin bar-style Horizon, available at Best Buy for $100, incorporates the company’s SmartBoost amplifier technology, said to boost weak signals and prevent outside RF noise interference to ensure reliable reception of signals up to 60 miles away. The antenna can be powered by the TV’s USB port or a standard AC power supply and comes with a mount for discreet attachment above or below a flat-panel TV or on the wall behind it.

The Trinity, which will be available at Walmart for $40 starting in October, employs Terk’s SmartBoost amplifier technology along with patent pending Trimodal RF technology to receive signals up to 60 miles away without having to make the “cumbersome dipole adjustments of old generation ‘rabbit ear’ designs.” The antenna comes pre-assembled for easy set up with minimal adjustment.
