Sky TV Tests Positive - For 3D

 Earlier in the week, we told you that England's Sky TV satellite broadcaster was promising the London Olympics in 3D. Looks like that promise is one step closer to becoming a reality. They have successfully tested 3D delivery to a high-definition set-top box.

Of course, these 3D broadcasts require 3D televisions. Problem is, the UK doesn't have any 3D televisions. Yet. They'll also need funky 3D glasses.

Sky delivered right to their own Sky+HD set-top box in this demonstration. From a BBC report: "We have shown it is a technical reality," Sky's director of strategic product development, Gerry O'Sullivan, told BBC News. "Now we have to find a way to bring it to viewers."Sky
