Riva’s Alexa-Enabled Smart Speaker Hits Amazon Today

Riva Audio today announced that its new Alexa voice-enabled Riva Concert Smart Speaker is now available on amazon.com for $199.

Hailed as the first “tap to talk” smart speaker, the all-in-one Riva Concert employs patented Trillium technology that uses three channels of amplification and custom-built drivers to deliver stereo sound from a single enclosure. The speaker is also built around an open architecture with enough memory to handle future Alexa upgrades — including an upcoming multiroom music update — to mitigate concerns over obsolescence.

With Alexa built-in, the Riva Concert is capable of controlling thousands of smart-home devices ‐ including smart plugs, thermostats, doorbells, and lights — and supports thousands of Alexa skills in addition to wireless streaming over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and AirPlay. Legacy audio gear is supported through an analog minijack input. The speaker also provides USB charging and is compatible with media servers and DNLA devices.

Three high-performance echo-canceling microphones are said to ensure reliable voice communication from up to 25 feet away, even if the speaker is playing music at a high volume, and multiple speakers can be controlled via the Riva Voice app’s tap-to-talk function. The app also facilitates quick set-up and streaming and can be used to manage listening modes and adjust bass and treble.

“Our dream…is that with a simple voice command, you can experience crystal clear music with all its nuance in pure stereophonic sound, anywhere in your home,” said Don North, President and Chief Engineer, RIVA Audio.

The Riva Concert is covered by a three-year warranty.

Riva plans to introduce the Riva Stadium tabletop smart speaker later this year.
