John Sciacca and Leslie Shapiro have both written about the Pronto Peel, an IR (infrared) hub/app that turns your iPhone into a personalized smart remote control. Pronto announced that the device/app is now available at Best Buy and bestbuy.com for $50.

When paired with an iPhone, you can use the Pronto Peel app to check your cable TV guide without turning on your TV, create a personalized TV guide, and send reminders to watch favorite shows and sporting events.
