Pioneer Adds 3 AV Receivers to Elite Series

Pioneer has added three Dolby Atmos-equipped, 9.2-channel receivers to its Elite Series: the SC-99 ($2,500), SC-97 ($2,000), and SC-95 ($1,600).

All models can be upgraded to include DTS:X surround processing via a free firmware update and feature Pioneer’s Class D3 amplifiers for high-power output across all channels simultaneously—850 watts for the SC-99, 810 watts for the SC-97, and 760 watts for the SC-95—and MCACC Pro technology said to correct temporal reverb and phase characteristics for a more faithful reproduction of object-based audio mixes.

Dolby Atmos 7.2.4, 9.2.2, 7.2.2 and 5.2.4 configurations are supported, although the first two layouts require an external amplifier.

Other audio highlights include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and AirPlay connectivity, Windows 8.1 certification, DLNA 1.5 streaming, full band/low-frequency phase compensation, and two high-performance SABRE32 Ultra DACs to handle digital-to-analog signal conversion.

The SC-99 and SC-97 have been certified by London’s prestigious AIR Studios to meet reference sound standards for home theater.

On the video side, all three models support passthrough of 4K/60P/4:4:4/24-bit signals with HDCP 2.2 copyright protection and High Dynamic Range (HDR) encoding.

All models can be operated via Pioneer’s free iControlAV5 app, support Pandora, Spotify, and Internet radio via vTuner, offer multizone AV capability, and integrate with whole-house control systems from Control4, AMX, and Crestron.

I looked at the Pioneer site... Apart from a few watts, there doesn't seem to be much between these three. Which is GREAT for consumers!! SC-95 is $1600!! If the details on the site are right then it's sure to be a Top Pick in that price bracket in no time!!

Don't they have HDMI 2.0a ports? It was not mentioned in Pioneer's website that they have HDMI 2.0a.
