Panasonic Announces 4K/Ultra HD Streaming Update for AX800 Series TVs

Panasonic today announced today that its current 58- and 65-inch AX800 series of 4K/Ultra HD TVs have received a firmware upgrade enabling them to stream 4K content via Netflix.

The company also announced that the 65-inch AX900 and 85-inch AX850 4K/Ultra HD TVs slated to hit stores next month will be compatible with Netflix 4K streaming “out of the box.”

In addition to the popular House of Cards and Breaking Bad series, Netflix announced that its latest series Marco Polo will be available for streaming in 4K when it arrives in December.

Netflix’s basic $8.99/month subscription plan does not include access to 4K content. In order to stream in 4K, subscribers must pay $11.99 per month, which permits up to four simultaneous streams.
