Nuvyyo Releases DVR App for Samsung Smart TVs

Nuvyyo, the Canada-based maker of Tablo brand over-the-air (OTA) digital video recorders (DVRs) for cord cutters, today introduced an app that brings off-air recording features to Samsung smart TVs built around the Tizen operating system.

The Tablo Samsung Tizen app will enable owners of Samsung smart TVs to discover, schedule, record, and stream live and recorded broadcast television programs using the TV’s remote control. DVR functions include pause, rewind, fast forward, and series recording in a format designed specifically for big-screen TVs.

The app is compatible with Tizen-based Samsung smart TV models dating back to 2015.

With the new Samsung Tizen app, all of the major smart TV operating systems — including Roku, Amazon Fire, Android TV, LG webOS, and Samsung Tizen — now support Tablo OTA DVRs.

“Tablo offers the widest breadth of fully-functional DVR app support of any over-the-air TV solution on the market,” said Grant Hall, CEO of Nuvyyo. “Now more than ever, Tablo gives cord cutters the opportunity to enjoy their favorite TV programs including network dramas, comedies, news, and sports like the Olympics from channels like NBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox, on any screen, anytime, anywhere — including Samsung Tizen smart TVs.”

Tablo’s Samsung Tizen app is available for download from the Samsung Tizen app store. For a list of devices that support Tablo, visit tablotv.com.
