New Turntable Stand Has Space for 200 Albums

Audio accessory maker Pangea Audio designed its new turntable stand with an eye toward maximizing LP storage.

In addition to a stable turntable platform and component shelf, Pangea’s Vulcan TTX2 stand has two spacious shelves with room for up to 200 albums.

The stand features a rigid, 0.75-inch-thick top platform that supports up to 80 pounds and tapered cone feet that provide stability while minimizing vibration. The feet can be outfitted with carpet piercing spikes or “mini sonic saucers” for use on tile and wood floors.

Overall dimensions are 41.25 inches tall by 23.75 inches wide by 18 inches deep and the shelves are described as scratch-resistant. The stand is available in basic black ($170), Rosenut ($200, shown on right), or Carbon Fiber Vinyl ($200).

“Since introducing the Vulcan TT stand earlier this year, we’ve enjoyed praise from dealers and consumers alike about how its stability and aesthetic design are a natural complement to any modern audio system,” said Steve Niemi, Pangea’s director of global sales. “We’ve also heard from a sizable number of consumers that they prefer increased storage space without having to add our modular option, so we upped the ante with the TTX2, while maintaining the rugged durability of the original model.”
