High-end audio company Meridian Audio has announced a new one-piece, bookshelf sound system with impressive stats and an even more impressive price tag. The M80 is a 2.1-channel, 80-watt sound system that can play audio from CDs, DVDs, AM/FM radio, or any audio device hooked up to its various inputs. The system's chassis is made from "custom mineral composite," but it doesn't get much more specific than that.

The M80 is currently shipping with a retail price of $2,995. It comes with Meridian's i80 iPod dock accessory, and is available in ivory, chestnut, and obsidian finishes.
