Meet Streamz: Music Player and Headphone in One

Utah-based Streamz, a spin-off of Mozaex that raised $100,000 on flashfunders.com, has a unique spin on personal music with the “world’s first smart streaming headphones.”

The Streamz headphone features voice control and has an integrated high-resolution music player in addition to supporting direct uncompressed audio streaming via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth streaming (for those who want to stream from a smartphone or other device). The player, which supports files up to 96 kHz/24-bit, has push-button controls and a color display on the left ear cup.

Using the Streamz app (iOS or Android) you can stream music from your smartphone or browse and play music stored in the player, which has 4 gigabytes (GB) of resident storage that can be expanded to 36 GB via an SD card. The app supports a number of streaming services including Pandora, Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, and iHeartRadio.

The headphone/player is equipped with a microphone and has an integrated lithium-polymer battery with a rated play time of 6 hours. An auto-synch feature makes it easy to wirelessly transfer music saved on a smartphone, computer, or Google Drive to the player.

Streamz will be available via the Streamz online store, which is slated to open October 11. Two leather-cushioned versions will be offered in black or white: the Streamz Pro over-ear model and Streamz Go on-ear model. Both are priced at $399.

“Music lovers, commuters, and audiophiles just want to listen to their music without having to mess with their smartphone, apps, cables, and Bluetooth pairing,” said Douglas Kihm, Smartstreamz founder and CEO. “We’ve created a solution that provides you complete freedom to instantly and easily listen to online streaming and HD quality music without a separate phone or music player.”
