Meet the DUAL, Philips' new QWERTY remote

Philips has announced a new universal remote, that combines a minimalist navigation design with a full QWERTY keyboard. The Philips Dual remote features a simple direction-pad, handful of basic controls, and an optical trackpad on one side of the remote for basic navigation, and a 38-button keyboard on the other side for text input with web-based HDTV and Blu-ray Disc features.

Despite its relatively simple design, the Dual looks very unique, with its two-tone grey color scheme and slightly curved keyboard surface. Unfortunately, Philips hasn't stated whether the keyboard's stylish body is metal or plastic. Likewise, Philips hasn't announced pricing or availability for the remote, but considering its features and design cues, it will likely retail for at least $100.
