LG Unveils its ‘Most Powerful Gaming Display Yet’

LG unveiled its “most powerful gaming display yet” at a competition it co-hosted over the weekend with the popular esports team FaZe Clan at DreamHack Atlanta 2018.

Designed for high-performance gaming, the 34GK950G UltraGear monitor boasts a 34-inch curved screen featuring a super-wide 21:9 aspect ratio, 3440 x 1440 resolution, and a pixel area that’s 2.4 times larger than a Full HD 16:9 monitor.

The heart of the monitor is LG’s Nano IPS liquid crystal panel that covers 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color space and “accurately recreates colors across 135 percent of the sRGB color space,” according to LG.

Built-in Nvidia G-Sync graphics processing and a high (overclocked) refresh rate of 120Hz are said to eliminate screen tearing and stuttering for smoother gameplay.

The monitor has three custom game modes and is equipped with a press-and-click base with screen tilt, height, and pivot adjustments plus Sphere Lighting with six color settings that allow gamers to create an ambiance lighting effect for enhanced game play.

The 34GK950G-B lists for $1,400 but is available for $1,200 through November 30 via amazon.com and other e-tailers.
