Jamo Unveils Designer Soundbars

Jamo has put its Danish design mojo to work in two “alternative” soundbars.

Instead of a boring black-plastic enclosure, the new Studio Series SB 36 and SB 40 soundbars are wrapped black or gray textured fabric and “uniquely tailored to reflect the sophisticated fine lines and textured finishes in traditional and modern homes,” according to Andre LaRouche, director of product development for Klipsch Group, the parent company of Jamo.

The SB 36 ($249), a 36-inch-wide 2.0 design with an integrated subwoofer, supports Bluetooth streaming and Dolby Audio decoding and offers virtual surround sound and voice-enhancement listening modes. The enclosure is only 2.6 inches tall, making it ideal for wall mounting (template included) or placement under a TV.

The SB 40 ($399) is a more feature-rich 40-inch-wide 2.1 design with everything the SB 36 offers plus a stand-alone wireless subwoofer, 4K video passthrough, HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 compatibility, and a night listening mode.
